Unleash your Inner Pirate at the 18th Annual Dive Pirates Ball
Looking forward to being together, while including pirates from around the world virtually, the non-profit Dive Pirates Foundation has announced its 18th Annual Dive Pirates Ball to take place February 19, 2022 in Houston, Texas in celebration of adaptive diving for people of all abilities.
“It may be a few weeks away but we’re kicking things off early with a golden ticket raffle that anyone and everyone can get in on now,” exclaimed the Dive Pirates Foundation’s new president Tyler Brandes. “We’ve also added a casino night to complement our fun program, live auction and bidding games.”
Only 100 tickets will be sold for a chance to win a trip to Key West, Nashville or Sedona.
“We love that the winner gets to choose which trip they want to take, and Amfund provides unique trips with three years to take it. No blackout dates, and lots of options to customize it to your liking.”
The event supports injured veterans and others with mobile disabilities as well as their adaptive dive buddies with equipment, training and travel as they explore something new with their friends and family; building confidence, self-worth and a network of likeminded people who enjoy sharing the beauty of what lies below the surface.
Tickets are now on sale for the event with keynote address from former dive pirate recipient, combat veteran, author and veterans advocate Retired Col. Dan Gade as well as 2021 dive pirate recipient and commissioned artist Scott Wilson.
“We couldn’t ask for a more dynamic event, with two speakers who lead amazing lives, who experienced firsthand our program; such a testament to those who support us, the impact they make on the program and the impact the program made in their lives. It is humbling, it is good for the soul,” continued Brandes who is an adaptive diver instructor and a longtime volunteer and supporter of the foundation.
The Foundation relies on this event to supports its year-around effort to empower the lives of those whose mobility has changed due to combat, accident or disease. Those who cannot attend are encouraged to make an impact with a general donation.
The Dive Pirates Foundation a 501(c)3 organization, positively impacts the lives of its recipients; injured military, first responders, law enforcement and others with mobile disabilities, by welcoming them into adaptive scuba diving which fosters accomplishment, self-worth and community. The Foundation trains, equips and conducts dive trips year-round to calm, warm-water locations for the safety of those with spinal cord injuries, networking with facilities willing to empower all participants with compassion and adaptation for a positive experience diving, team building and networking – www.divepirates.org
