Salmon Fights Lingcod While Diving Vancouver Island Canada
During a dive in Barkley Sound with Rendezvous Dive Adventures we found this 5 ft lingcod that caught an unsuspected chinook salmon. A bottom dweller catching a fast swimming fish.. the end?

To end all speculations about the name ” Lingcod”…. This fish, Ophidon Elongatus (long snouted), is actually related to and part of the greenling family. Lingcod is just a common name and as so often does not correctly represent itself.
