The Kungkungan Bay Resort is made up of 17 bedrooms, each located along or near to the waterfront of the private bay. Made from local materials and using traditional Minahasa architecture, the rooms all feature modern touches including air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and wi-fi, while a selection also have access to a shared veranda. Guests can relax in the infinity edged swimming pool, enjoy a drink in Captain Billy’s Bar and eat in the large dining area, where a variety of fresh cuisine is served daily.
The on-site PADI affiliated dive centre offers a full range of courses and daily boat dives to 50 of the best diving destinations in the Lembeh Strait. Famous for underwater macro photography, avid photographers can snap away at species including pygmy seahorses, flamboyant cuttlefish and coconut octopus, while other highlights will include a visit to the fascinating Jahir – a black sand site that is home to zebra crabs and purple heart urchins.
Marine park regulations limit the number of divers on any site to 15, giving plenty of space and time to explore and hone photography skills and techniques.
