Brand new flights into Marsa Alam & reduced transfer times in the Red Sea – now available!
UK-based Tour Operator blue o two aim to make their guests’ liveaboard experience even better so next year, they are delighted to announce that guests will now be able to fly directly into Marsa Alam to join their flagship vessel M/Y blue Horizon at her southern departure point in Port Ghalib. What better way to start a southern Red Sea liveaboard experience?
This new flight option from blue o two will help to reduce transfer times down to the south by almost four hours; Port Ghalib is situated just a short 10-15 minute drive away from Marsa Alam airport. Accessing those spectacular southern Red Sea itineraries aboard M/Y blue Horizon has never been easier.
Direct flights into Marsa Alam will be offered from April 2018 onwards including a fantastic new departure airport option with Birmingham in the summer months; this is a great central airport with fantastic amenities, easily accessible from both the south and north of the UK.
The new programme for M/Y blue Horizon also includes a range of departure days and the 2018 schedule is as follows:
Winter Schedule
- 5th – 19th April 2018 – Trips aboard M/Y blue Horizon will depart on a Thursday from Port Ghalib
The following direct flights will be available on a Thursday:
- London Gatwick (LGW) to Marsa Alam (RMF)
(Flights from MAN may be available into HRG if preferred, but transfer time to Port Ghalib will take approx. 4 hours and a flight/transfer supplement may also apply)
Summer Schedule
- 30th April – 22nd October 2018 – Trips aboard M/Y blue Horizon will depart on a Monday from Port Ghalib
The following direct flights will be available on a Monday:
- Birmingham (BHX) to Marsa Alam (RMF)
(Flights from LGW, MAN and NCL may be available into HRG if preferred, but transfer time to Port Ghalib will take approx. 4 hours and a flight/transfer supplement may also apply)
To ensure that the same superb experience that guests have come to know and love is delivered, the new flights into Marsa Alam will still include the VISA Meet & Greet service, plus transfers into Port Ghalib. Guests will also receive Last Day Hotel Use at The Marina Lodge in Port Ghalib, including access to the beach, pool and luggage storage to help bring your holiday with blue o two to a perfect conclusion before a short transfer back to the airport.
Over the years, blue o two have always endeavoured to listen to feedback from guests, and they are confident that the brand new Marsa Alam flights, significantly reduced transfer times and departure airport options will allow their divers to enjoy yet another level of improved and diverse service in the Egyptian Red Sea.

Dive Worldwide Announces Bite-Back as its Charity of the Year
Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back. The company’s commitment to conservation helps set it apart from other tour operators and we’re certain its clients admire and respect that policy. For us, the affiliation is huge and helps us look to the future with confidence we can deliver against key conservation programmes.”
To launch the fundraising initiative, Phil North presented Graham Buckingham with a cheque for £1,000.
Visit Dive Worldwide to discover its diverse range of international scuba adventures and visit Bite-Back to learn more about the charity’s campaigns.
