A Werner Lau dive centre is on-site for all your diving needs and is PADI, SSI and CMAS affiliated. It’s a perfect setting to learn to dive in the six metre deep lagoon. Daily boat dives operate to the 30 local sites on the atoll and day trips to the channels are offered throughout the week for more experienced divers.
Your underwater experience will include a variety of dive sites from coral bommies, to overhangs, wall diving and shallow reefs. Expect to see anything from nudibranch to manta rays in season. Turtles, rays, sharks, napoleon wrasse, tuna and barracuda are commonly seen on the sites in this secluded area of the Maldives.
Two of the most famous dive sites in the Maldives can be reached from here – ‘Mantas and More’ and ‘Shark’s Tongue’. Nitrox is complimentary for qualified divers.
The resort consists of 112 beach and water villas including private free-standing lagoon suites accessed exclusively by dhoni. The comfortable and private rooms are surrounded by lush tropical gardens, have a coconut thatch roof and Maldivian furnishing. Medhufushi also has a host of other activities available with a gymnasium and fresh water swimming pool as well as a range of water based activities to choose from, or take an island hopping or night fishing trip.
