Nelson Mandela once said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” At the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center (MATE), that’s exactly the goal.

Roveal Underwater Robotics is currently preparing to attend the 2015 Florida Regional ROV Competition held by MATE in St. Petersburg. This will be our first experience with MATE and we couldn’t be more excited! We were invited to participate with MATE as one of their professional ROV companies, and that’s something we are extremely proud of, especially as a small company like Roveal.

MATE’s focus on STEM education is incredibly important and noble work, which the Roveal team supports wholeheartedly. Engaging with the teams and watching the action unfold should make for some great memories. We look forward to an amazing time at this year’s competition and hope to attend many more.

The competition takes place this coming Saturday, April 25th; stay on the lookout for updates on our experience with MATE here on Scubaverse.com.
