Sudan; a new dive destination with Diverse Travel
A new dive destination has been added to the worldwide offerings from UK tour operator, Diverse Travel. Sudan is now another choice for divers in the company’s popular worldwide programme.
Right on the border of Red Sea diving, here is the chance to dive some of the world’s most famous dive sites by liveaboard, the only way to experience uncrowded and well preserved dive sites. MV Oceanos and MV Dolce Vita offer divers space, hotel-style comfort and Nitrox.
Prices on MV Oceanos are from £1399 per person and on MV Dolce Vita from £1469 per person for 7 night package based on twin share including return flights from London Heathrow to Port Sudan, via Dubai, all airline departure taxes, 7 nights on-board with 6 days’ diving/3 dives a day, tanks/weights and all meals, Sudanese taxes and all transfers.
Why dive in Sudan?
- Warm, clear waters are home to around 400 varieties of coral and over 1500 species of fish, turtle and shark and mantas
- One of the best places for shark enthusiasts including scalloped hammerheads
- Sharks, barracuda, spotted stingrays, moray eels and huge parrot fish are regulars
- Jacques Cousteau placed Sudan on the map in the early 60s with his experiments in living underwater. The wreck of Conshelf II can still be seen
- The World War II wreck, the Umbria, is close to Port Sudan and one of the best preserved wrecks in the Red Sea
With over twenty years of dive centre and resort management, the Diverse Travel team has the experience to deliver memorable diving holidays that benefit from full financial ATOL protection under the TTA.

Dive Worldwide Announces Bite-Back as its Charity of the Year
Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back. The company’s commitment to conservation helps set it apart from other tour operators and we’re certain its clients admire and respect that policy. For us, the affiliation is huge and helps us look to the future with confidence we can deliver against key conservation programmes.”
To launch the fundraising initiative, Phil North presented Graham Buckingham with a cheque for £1,000.
Visit Dive Worldwide to discover its diverse range of international scuba adventures and visit Bite-Back to learn more about the charity’s campaigns.
