New Underwater Film-Maker Workshops at Marsa Shagra
UK-based Tour Operator Oonasdivers has announced that they are now working with multi-award winning Film- maker and Underwater Cinematographer David Diley. He will be hosting a week-long Underwater Film-Maker Workshop at Marsa Shagra on 4th October 2017, as well as more dates to be confirmed in 2018.
As well as attracting critical acclaim for his films, “Of Shark and Man,” “A Ray of Light” and “A Ray of Light II,” David is well known for his involvement with high profile shark and ray conservation campaigns. His company Scarlet View Media specialises in providing content for a wide variety of clients including some of the UK’s major dive brands. As an HSE Commercial Media Diver, David has dived extensively in the UK and abroad including Fiji, The Bahamas, The U.S., The Azores and Egypt.
David has this to say about his exciting new project with Oonasdivers:
“During your week you will gain underwater cinematography techniques such as the art of diving as a camera operator, editing and post production-colour correction and grading, topside cinematography, effective storytelling, sound design and how best to deliver your videos for either public performance or online streaming, everything you need to turn your videos into engaging, short films.
The primary objective of the workshop is to allow you to flourish in a creatively stimulating and non-competitive environment which encourages you to try different things and truly find talents you may not have previously known you have. Team work, questions and enthusiasm are encouraged and you will have unrestricted access to an award winning film-maker with professional expertise both behind and in front of the camera, as well as the entire post-production process.
Whether you want better holiday videos to share with friends or you want to become a professional yourself, this workshop is the ideal place to do some world class diving, learn and most importantly, have fun!”

Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
