Fourth Element announce Tech Fins inspired by whale tail

A classic vented dive fin, engineered by nature and redesigned to maximise performance.
Fourth Element’s new Tech Fins have taken inspiration from nature and evolution to optimise efficiency. The turbulence disruptors on the top of the blade work in the same way as the nodules of the leading edge of a humpback whale fin, which disrupt the water as they move through it. The resulting turbulence enables the whale to swim with more efficiency. Fourth Element has adopted this evolutionary concept to improve the performance of this classic fin.
Utilising natural rubber in a unique density gradient, the dive fin delivers an ultra- comfortable foot pocket combined with optimised stiffness for finning performance.
The vented design allows water to flow along the blade reducing drag and fatigue, whilst the stiffening rails and ribs ensure that the blade of the fin is driven through the water to maximise the return on effort.
The Tech Fins, with a slightly negative buoyancy characteristic, were developed with technical divers in mind but are suitable for all levels of diver looking for a high-performance rubber fin. The wider blade gives manoeuvrability without compromising the power, while the shorter length improves agility and makes stowing the fins for transport more convenient. Spring straps with comfortable heel pads keep the feet securely held in place. These straps can be removed and changed easily with everyday tools if required.
The Tech Fins are supplied with a hanging/carrying strap and a marine quality bolt snap which may be used to attach them to a bcd or harness for carrying, leaving both hands free for climbing ladders or carrying other gear.
The natural rubber material of this fin is extremely durable, and all components are recyclable at end of life.
The Tech Fins are available in M, L, XL and XXL. These fins will fit sizes 4 (US5) to 14 (US15) and come in Black, Grey or Aqua.

SCUBAPRO introduces the Seawing Supernova

SCUBAPRO introduces the Seawing Supernova, a new diving fin designed to deliver maximum power when you need it.
Winner of the prestigious, internationally recognized Red Dot Award for product design, the Seawing Supernova is a remarkable step up from the Seawing Nova in performance, construction, fit and versatility, with an innovative blade shape that produces much more power, speed and manoeuvrability.
Power is key in a diving fin and the Seawing Supernova delivers. The fin’s proven Pivot Control Technology ensures the blade is pre-set in the 40º to 50º range, which is the optimal angle of attack for the blade and ideal for converting kicks into forward propulsion. This hinge system works in tandem with the blade’s unique flexible Auto-Adjust central panel which fine-tunes the angle of attack by counter-pivoting based on the strength of the kick. This provides a milder angle of attack for comfort when kicking gently, a more aggressive angle of attack when power kicking at full strength, and anything in between. When it comes to frog and alternate kicks, new twin-tip winglets increase control and markedly improve manoeuvrability.
Made of premium Monprene® for maximum durability, the Seawing Supernova’s innovative two-piece design, with blade and foot pocket molded separately, disassembles easily for travel. Sold as an open heel set with foot pocket and blade pre-assembled, the Seawing Supernova’s open heel foot pocket features an upgraded heavy-duty bungee strap that allows for micro-adjustments to accommodate different boot types, and extended grip pads that provide an improved non-skid grip on wet surfaces.
The two-piece design also makes it possible to replace the standard open heel foot pocket with an optional full foot pocket for barefoot diving. Simply disassemble the fin’s Socket-Lock Connecting System, switch out the open heel foot pocket with a full foot pocket, reassemble and you’re ready to hit the water. The full foot pocket is also made of premium Monprene® and features a re-profiled heel-retention cup to prevent slipping and chafing.
A key fob-style multi-Tool is included for assembly and disassembly of the foot pocket and blade, along with a travel-friendly storage bag.
The new Seawing Supernova is the essential power fin for avid recreational and professional divers seeking maximum performance, speed and control in all diving conditions.
