Diverse Travel adds Maldives liveaboard Carpe Diem to portfolio
New to Diverse Travel’s already impressive portfolio of Maldives liveaboards, Carpe Diem is a 35m high-spec liveaboard accommodating 20 guests in 10 ensuite, air- conditioned cabins over three decks.
The boat is escorted by a diving dhoni (tender) and small speedboat making diving even easier for guests, getting to dive sites quickly and flexibly. The local dive team of three has an abundance of experience and cater for any experience although, to get the most from the trip, the Advanced Open Water qualification is recommended. Carpe Diem offers a standard three dives a day. The spacious dive deck has fresh water showers and toilet and Nitrox is available at extra charge.
The main deck features the briefing and lounge area with coffee/tea and drinking water 24 hours a day. It also has a wide flat-screen TV, DVD/MP3 player. Outside is another sitting area in the shade with cushions where guests can have afternoon tea whilst drinking in the vivid colours of the Indian Ocean.
The upper deck has a sofa/reading area, library, the Suite and Deluxe cabins and dive rental equipment room. The main open air dining and bar area is at the back of the boat serving semi-buffet meals. A staircase leads to a 115 sqm sun deck, which is partially shaded.

Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
