What’s Hot At LIDS 2015
The London International Dive Show (LIDS) 2015 takes place this weekend (14th/15th February) at London ExCeL. Here’s what visitors can expect to find at the Show:
- GEAR. Get an overview of what exhibitors are offering at the New Products Showcase by the entrance.
- To decide whether a trip is right for you and yours, visit the stands, see the talks and meet the people who do the dives.
- Some big hitters such as Monty Halls, Mark Powell, Leigh Bishop and Paul Rose are set to appear on the DIVER Stage.
- UPY LONDON RESULTS. Alex Mustard’s two presentations, on the winning images from UPY London and how to produce a contest winner, will take place on the London Stage.
- Everything photo – or videographic will be concentrated in the LIDS PhotoZone, including equipment suppliers and a dazzling display of the UPY winners.
- SCUBA YOUTH ZONE. Special guests (such as Andy Torbet) and exhibitors including BSAC, PADI, Sea Shepherd, Manta Trust and Plastic Oceans will be giving informal talks and advice for 10-16 year-olds.
- Winners abound at LIDS 2015, because the £8000 Philippines Grand Draw Prize apart, many exhibitors have their own competitions and giveaways.
- TRAINING AND POOLS. Training agencies PADI and BSAC are at the show. Visitors can experience scuba in the Try-Dive Pool, and closed-circuit enthusiasts can sample the latest Rec and Tec models in the Rebreather Pool.
