Divers Warehouse Under New Management
Divers Warehouse has gone through some huge changes this year. The company was purchased back in May by new owners Managing Director Michelle Hedley, Director Anton Serrant and Shareholder Samantha Cross, and also became a Limited company.
Michelle is from a sales and customer service background working for large companies such as HSBC and Nestle, and has used the professional training she has received from those companies to look at ways to move Divers Warehouse forward. Michelle is a straight talking individual who works on the “what you see is what you get” mentality and has a strong work ethic instilled in her by her father, a quality that has gained her the support of leading dive equipment suppliers such as Cressi, Mares and Apeks who clearly believe in her and have been a great help in getting the new company up and running. Michelle is a people person and is passionate about Divers Warehouse Ltd, the team, the club members and the customers, and will be giving Divers Warehouse Ltd 100% of her time.
Anton Serrant is a Manager for an engineering company, so is fully competent in all the servicing and Health and Safety aspects of the equipment used by Divers Warehouse Ltd. Anton is currently being taught to dive by Divers Warehouse Ltd Instructors and has definitely caught the diving bug! Anton and Michelle have an unbreakable bond which started when Michelle managed Anton in a Saturday job role and watched him grow in to the Manager he is today. They are firm friends which will assist in the smooth running of the company and share the same ethics and family values, which always adds value to any company.
Samantha Cross is a passionate diver with a warm, infectious personality. Sam runs the pool sessions at Shipley Pool on a Wednesday evening 18:30 – 20:30 with the instructors and regularly dives with the club members. Sam works in the shop on a Wednesday but her main role is a carer in a home help scenario showing her service to the community and why she is such an asset to the Divers Warehouse Ltd team.
Feedback from customers has led to several new developments, such as the creation of a new “real time” website which should go live around late October/November time this year, and more of the staff are currently being trained up on gas blending. There is also a new Course Director in place meaning there are many more courses for divers to choose from.
And there are ambitious plans for the future – Michelle plans to get a pool put in at some point, and there has even been talk of an inland dive site. Exciting times!

Dive Worldwide has recently introduced Kenya to its portfolio of dive destinations, making it a new must-visit for divers. An abundance of activities such as golf, stand up paddleboarding and kite surfing await those looking for action; while those in search of rejuvenation may partake in a range of yoga classes, or indulge in the spa. Spend evenings dining poolside dining or lazing in hammocks suspended over the creek; there is no detail missed at Temple Point.
The waters surrounding Temple Point Resort are bustling with life, however, there is also an opportunity to explore on dry land. Tsavo National Park is close enough for a day safari, allowing guests to double up on the wildlife experiences Kenya has to offer, from elephants to whale sharks.

Dive Worldwide Announces Bite-Back as its Charity of the Year
Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back. The company’s commitment to conservation helps set it apart from other tour operators and we’re certain its clients admire and respect that policy. For us, the affiliation is huge and helps us look to the future with confidence we can deliver against key conservation programmes.”
To launch the fundraising initiative, Phil North presented Graham Buckingham with a cheque for £1,000.
Visit Dive Worldwide to discover its diverse range of international scuba adventures and visit Bite-Back to learn more about the charity’s campaigns.
