DeeperBlue.com Announce 2014 UK Member Meet
Our friends over at DeeperBlue.com have announced that their 3rd Annual Member Meet in the UK will be held in Guernsey (Channel Islands) again between 8th – 10th August 2014. In 2013 they had over 40 Forum Members and their families join in 3 days of social activities and diving, and even had their first ever DeeperBlue.com Engagement between two members as a surprise at the closing party.
Many members brought their families along and made a holiday of it by staying before or after the event on the island.
In 2014 the format of the Meet will be changing slightly with 3 days of social activities, the usual spearfishing specimen hunt, however this time organised Freediving sessions will be introduced on Saturday and Sunday which will be run by Steve Millard of Freedivers.co.uk.
Spaces on the whole event are limited to 50 people and both the Spearfishing and Freediving activities will be limited to 20 attendees on each.
As usual the weekend will end with a big party at Forum Community Team Leader Foxfish’s house with a fancy dress theme and prizes to give away.

Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back. To launch the fundraising initiative, Phil North presented Graham Buckingham with a cheque for £1,000.
