Book onto Dive Worldwide’s 2017 Truk Expedition early and save £100
New to Dive Worldwide’s collection of expert-led small group adventures for 2017 is a Monster Truk Expedition in Micronesia and Palau – a trip of a lifetime staying in a comfortable mix of resort and liveaboard accommodation.
This adventure in June 2017 is aimed at advanced recreational divers, technical divers and rebreather divers who wish to explore the very best of Truk Lagoon. One of the world’s largest enclosed lagoons, Truk is home to an entire Japanese fleet, sunk in 1944 and frozen in time and in situ. Nowhere else in the world are there so many wrecks in close proximity, situated in clear shallow water. Truk Lagoon is an underwater museum and a must for wreck lovers.
The expedition is led by Neil Bennett, a true professional at the very pinnacle of his sport, with a passion for wrecks, big marine life and technical diving. A highly experienced SDI & TDI instructor trainer and a PADI MSDT instructor, Neil has trained thousands of divers.
The MV Odyssey, a popular liveaboard accommodating 16 guests will be home to divers for seven nights, with daily diving in Truk Lagoon. Up to five dives a day are offered to a variety wrecks and coral reefs, where there is plenty of marine life including sharks and eagle rays. The spacious easy-entry dive platform has plenty of room for two divers plus a divemaster. Nitrox is complimentary for qualified divers. Double tanks (DIN and YOKE systems) are available for technical divers and a local surcharge applies for oxygen mixtures above the standard free Nitrox.
At the start and finish of the trip stay at The Blue Lagoon Dive Resort, situated on a palm fringed point of Moen Island with breath taking views and great facilities. The family run dive centre here offers daily boat dives to Truk Lagoon.
Price: From £3,495 per person sharing, including 6 nights B&B accommodation at Blue Lagoon Resort and 10 dives, 7 nights full board accommodation on MV Odyssey with up to five dives daily, complimentary Nitrox for certified divers, complimentary equipment rental (if required), the services of expert tour leader Neil Bennett, Truk diving permit and airport transfers. International flights are extra.

Dive Worldwide Announces Bite-Back as its Charity of the Year
Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back.
