Regaldive introduce two new Truk Lagoon liveaboards
UK-based diving holiday specialist Regaldive has announced that it has recently expanded its liveaboard programme with the addition of two new Truk Lagoon liveaboards, SS Thorfinn and Truk Odyssey. Best explored by liveaboard, Truk Lagoon (Chuuk Lagoon) offers a unique dive destination, with some of the finest wreck diving in the world.
Truk Lagoon is enclosed by a 225 kilometre barrier reef and is home to an entire Japanese WWII fleet, sunk in 1944. The lagoon houses more than 100 ships, planes and submarines. Frozen in time, complete with its submarine, jeeps, tanks and fighter planes still waiting in the hangars, all encrusted with coral, the area has been declared an underwater museum.
Nowhere else in the world are there so many wrecks within a coral reef lagoon, with many wrecks located in shallow, clear water. This fabulous combination of superb wrecks and wonderful reef diving attracts divers of all levels.
SS Thorfinn
SS Thorfinn is one of the world’s largest and best equipped liveaboard dive cruisers, having cruised Micronesian waters since the 1980’s. SS Thorfinn is big, rugged and built for the world’s most challenging oceans. Spacious and well appointed, the vessel offers great food and extensive comforts without pretensions. The vessel has 10 double occupancy rooms with space for 20 guests and has a very experienced crew.
7 night Truk Lagoon trips aboard SS Thorfinn start from £1,645 per person, including twin share accommodation, up to 5 dives per day, a la carte meals, snacks, teas, coffee, soft drinks and juices. Free Nitrox. Flights are excluded but can be arranged through Regaldive.
Truk Odyssey
Truk Odyssey is one of Truk’s finest liveaboard vessels with the advantage of having a steel hull. The Odyssey has seven staterooms with either king size or twin beds and two private single staterooms, all are en-suite. Truk Odyssey’s amenities are consistent with the world’s top liveaboards, including a comfortable entertainment lounge and a large dining area with a full commercial galley.
7 night Truk Lagoon trips aboard Truk Odyssey start from £2,237 per person, including twin share accommodation, up to 5 dives per day and all meals, snacks and beverages, including beer and wine. Free Nitrox. Flights are excluded but can be arranged through Regaldive.
With its in-house team of diving enthusiasts, Regaldive is well placed to help divers to plan their next scuba diving holiday adventures in Truk Lagoon and in over 25 other exciting worldwide destinations.

Dive Worldwide Announces Bite-Back as its Charity of the Year
Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back. The company’s commitment to conservation helps set it apart from other tour operators and we’re certain its clients admire and respect that policy. For us, the affiliation is huge and helps us look to the future with confidence we can deliver against key conservation programmes.”
To launch the fundraising initiative, Phil North presented Graham Buckingham with a cheque for £1,000.
Visit Dive Worldwide to discover its diverse range of international scuba adventures and visit Bite-Back to learn more about the charity’s campaigns.
