Man Helps Deliver Ten Shark Pups on Spanish Beach

A man has done a commendable job by helping a shark give birth to a total of 10 babies on a beach in Spain. Antonio Calvillo was heading to work when he saw strange movements on the beach in Fuengirola in southern Spain.
He initially thought that it was a stranded dolphin, but after he went close to the species, he discovered that it was actually a blue shark. He immediately got in touch with emergency services to seek help for the shark. But as something urgent was needed to be done, he decided to drag the shark to sea by the tail. He said the animal seemed to be very tired and he had no other option than to himself move the shark to sea, but ensured that no injury was caused to the animal.
He added that he was also offered help by a passing-by married couple. “But while the shark was thrashing about we noticed a little tail coming out of its stomach”, Calvillo told the newspaper La Opinion de Malaga.
It was only then when the rescuers realized that the shark was actually giving birth to babies. As soon as he realised what was happening, Calvillo began to apply pressure to the shark’s stomach and continued doing so until the animal had given birth to 10 babies. After giving birth to the babies, the shark went back into the sea.
Calvillo said that his initial thought was that if mother will not be able to survive at least the babies will live.
Two local Civil Guard officers also arrived on the scene to help the exhausted shark to go back into the water. After sometime, the shark sought improvement in its energy level and was able to swim out to sea unaided. Calvillo said that he will never be able to forget this amazing experience.
