Getting underwater during the Pandemic by Sean Chinn – February NUPG Meeting (Watch Video)

The February 2022 NUPG meeting saw Sean Chinn take to the virtual stage. While his travels were disrupted over the past two years, Sean was lucky enough to have squeezed in trips whenever possible and doing so meant he had some of the best dives of his life so far. His stunning images show just how incredible these trips were…

The monthly NUPG competition theme in February was “Verticals” and the winner was John Spencer with an image of batfish from the Red Sea.

In joint runner-up spot was Alex Tasker with a shot of a pipefish at Trefor in North Wales

Also in joint runner-up spot was Caroline Robertson-Brown with a shot of a Tompot Blenny from Swanage Pier.

The Northern Underwater Photography Group (NUPG) is an organisation of like-minded people with an interest in taking images underwater. The group meets in Manchester but membership is drawn from around the North of England and further afield. Four opportunities to go pro in 2024 with Dive Friends Bonaire

Dive Friends teaches the Instructor Development Course (IDC) several times a year to students who are eager to share their passion for diving with the world.

Dive Friends is known for the personal approach throughout the course. Their in-house course director will lead the students through every essential step, mentoring them to achieve their fullest potential as a dive instructor.

Applications for the following IDC start dates are now open:

  • 12 April
  • 5 July,
  • 20 September
  • 29 November

If the student opts for the IDC-Deluxe or IDC-Supreme package, their accommodation will be arranged for them at Casita Palma.
