Check out this great last minute special offer to Truk Lagoon from Scuba Tours Worldwide

UK based tour operator Scuba Tours Worldwide are offering a fantastic saving on their Exclusive Tour to dive the World War II wrecks of Truk Lagoon.  Saving £828pp, this trip is now only £1,847pp which includes return Manila to Truk flights, 1 night Blue Lagoon Resort, 7 nights SS Thorfinn liveaboard (7 full days diving) and 3 nights Truk Stop Hotel (2 full days diving). They can offer competitive air fares from the UK to Manila on request.

This trip coincides with the 70th Anniversary of ‘Operation Hailstone’ during which the US army laid siege to Truk Lagoon in a bid to destroy the Japanese navy’s forward military base stationed there and in retaliation for their attack on Pearl Harbour. This was a relentless assault, lasting two days over 17th/18th February 1944, during which 30 waves of American bombers destroyed over 60 vessels and around 250 Japanese planes.

Diving in Truk Lagoon is pretty easy – being a sheltered lagoon, there is little current to deal with and sea conditions are usually very favourable.  Some wrecks are in very shallow waters – just a few meters below the surface – while the deepest is at 65m.  Typically, the wrecks lie in waters between 28m and 45m.

Roots Red Sea is the Travelers’ Choice

There is a remote spot on the coast of the Egyptian Eastern Desert that has been steadily developing an enviable reputation amongst the worlds diving community. It’s absolutely no surprise then that Roots Red Sea has just received TripAdvisors top award, Travelers Choice, the 10th year running it has been recognised with awards from TripAdvisor!

With a passing glance, many divers have dismissed a visit to this gem, its rustic appearance and remote location seemingly enough to deter further consideration. However, those that take a closer look have been rewarded with simply a totally unique experience with awesome diving, an unbelievable welcome and life long memories.

Winning an award once could be luck, every year for 10 years, there has to be a reason. Why not go to find out what it is?
