Dive Ninjas releases conservation-based PADI Divemaster Internship

Published

on

As pioneers in sustainable marine tourism, Dive Ninja Expeditions announces a new PADI divemaster internship in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico unlike any other in the industry. Encompassing conservation, skill proficiency, and professional experience, this 4-6 week program is designed for those looking to expand their careers in this unconventional industry and make a positive impact for our oceans.

Dive Ninja Expeditions has built a reputation on sharing the beauty of Mexico’s abundant oceans while fighting to protect them through full circle ecotourism & conservation projects. Over the years, they have partnered with Sea Shepherd, Nakawe Project, and Empty The Tanks, just to name a few. Now, they are extending their resources to others wanting to share their passion for sustainability through this exclusive divemaster internship.

“Becoming a PADI dive professional has allowed me to share the underwater world with countless people from all over and be a part of a community that shares a common goal: fighting for the future of our oceans. Now, we have a chance to empower other dive professionals with the best tools to make an even greater impact in their future careers using the platform we have created here at Dive Ninjas.”

                                                                        —Donna, Team Ninja Instructor

Based on years of experience building ecotours, such as their citizen-science striped marlin and mobula ray expeditions, they have created conservation workshops for dive pros where divemaster candidates will learn everything from working with local scientists to designing their own eco tours. In total, they have built 12 specialized modules for the new curriculum that are then intertwined with the PADI Divemaster course to create their Ninja PADI Divemaster program. These cover a range of topics — from shark biology & conservation to learning scuba equipment maintenance.  During their divemaster internship, candidates are also mentored by the team in all aspects of the dive business, not just the diving. The aim is to help them become a greater asset when they start working in the industry.

The course is also tailored to each individuals’ specific goals and diving aspirations with options to add on technical diving, photography, and other skills & certifications. The opportunities are endless with Dive Ninja Expeditions under the leadership of pro-photographer & conservationist, Jay Clue. Introduction to photo and video services, resume building, working in remote areas, marine conservation, and other skills that build a solid foundation for a well-rounded dive professional. A divemaster that has the tools to make a positive impact wherever their career may take them.

Corporate Patrons provide a valuable boost to the work of The Shark Trust. The Trust team works globally to safeguard the future of sharks, and their close cousins, the skates and rays, engaging with a global network of scientists, policymakers, conservation professionals, businesses and supporters to further shark conservation.

Specialist tour operator Diverse Travel has operated since 2014 and is committed to offering its guests high quality, sustainable scuba diving holidays worldwide. Working together with the Shark Trust will enable both organisations to widen engagement and encourage divers and snorkellers to actively get involved in shark conservation.

Sharks are truly at the heart of every diver and at Diverse Travel, we absolutely share that passion. There is nothing like seeing a shark in the wild – it’s a moment that stays with you forever!” says Holly Bredin, Sales & Marketing Manager, Diverse Travel.

We’re delighted to celebrate our 10th year of business by becoming a Corporate Patron of the Shark Trust. This is an exciting partnership for Diverse and our guests. We will be donating on behalf of every person who books a holiday with us to contribute towards their vital shark conservation initiatives around the world. We will also be working together with the Trust to inspire divers, snorkellers and other travellers to take an active role – at home and abroad – in citizen science projects and other activities.”

Paul Cox, CEO of The Shark Trust, said:

It’s an exciting partnership and we’re thrilled to be working with Diverse Travel to enable more divers and travellers to get involved with sharks and shark conservation. Sharks face considerable conservation challenges but, through collaboration and collective action, we can secure a brighter future for sharks and their ocean home. This new partnership takes us one more valuable step towards that goal.”
