PADI launches essential business survival webinar series to fortify your business
PADI® has always believed in the power of community and the strength in coming together, especially during difficult times. For most of us in the industry, our world has been turned upside down, so we must remain focused and work toward a not-so-distant-future where operations and diving resume. With this in mind, PADI Member support teams across the globe are working around the clock to help PADI Members recover with strength and velocity.
As part of PADI’s immediate membership support package to help stimulate business, the organization has created a series of “survival training” webinars to help PADI Dive Centers, Resorts and Professionals through this challenging period and emerge stronger once the crisis wanes. These interactive presentations will cover resources and programs available to assist dive businesses, online marketing, adapting training techniques for the current reality, staff and instructor training, EFR®, practical tips for maximizing opportunities for the current market, and strategies to shape our post-COVID-19 future. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions they may have specific to their market and business.
Realizing this pandemic is impacting various parts of the world in different ways and at different times, webinars will address a range of business, training and marketing topics with a regional focus:
PADI Americas – Visit PADI America’s Member resource hub for information about upcoming webinars, as well as an extensive array of tools and solutions to keep you active, informed and prepared during this crisis.
PADI Asia Pacific – Click here to learn more about and register for upcoming webinars hosted by the PADI Asia Pacific team. The PADI Asia Pacific Pros COVID-19 Resource Hub offers additional information to help PADI Members through the COVID-19 pandemic and will be regularly updated with the latest available information.
PADI Europe, Middle East and Africa – Click here for further details about the webinar series hosted by PADI EMEA Regional Managers. With all the uncertainty surrounding the current pandemic, the PADI EMEA team has also created the PADI EMEA Pros COVID-19 Resource Hub with additional resources.
“We understand the immense burden and concern you are currently being challenged with, led by an uncertainty about tomorrow and how best to make it through,” says Drew Richardson, President and CEO of PADI Worldwide. “We’re in these trenches with you, shovel in hand. The PADI family has soldiered through difficult circumstances many times before. Our united resilience during these challenges shows that we have the strength and endurance to make it through this one, too. The entire PADI team stands with you throughout this historic chapter in history and beyond, and will continue to evolve resources and strategies to fight through this together.”
More than 2,000 dive retailers, resort operators and PADI Professional have already taken part in the webinar series. The number of attendees is growing with each webinar, as is the expanding educational content. PADI will continue to develop and deliver this community informational series as the global situation continues to shift.
All webinars allow PADI Professionals to obtain PADI training credits. Advanced registration (free) is required. If you have any questions regarding the webinar series or other business and training needs, please contact your PADI Regional Team.

Dive Worldwide Announces Bite-Back as its Charity of the Year
Over the next 12 months, specialist scuba holiday company Dive Worldwide will be supporting Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation with donations collected from client bookings to any one of its stunning dive destinations around the world. The independently-owned operator expects to raise £3000 for the UK charity.
Manager at Dive Worldwide, Phil North, said: “We’re especially excited to work with Bite-Back and support its intelligent, creative and results-driven campaigns to end the UK trade in shark products and prompt a change in attitudes to the ocean’s most maligned inhabitant.”
Bite-Back is running campaigns to hold the media to account on the way it reports shark news along with a brand new nationwide education programme. Last year the charity was credited for spearheading a UK ban on the import and export of shark fins.
Campaign director at Bite-Back, Graham Buckingham, said: “We’re enormously grateful to Dive Worldwide for choosing to support Bite-Back. The company’s commitment to conservation helps set it apart from other tour operators and we’re certain its clients admire and respect that policy. For us, the affiliation is huge and helps us look to the future with confidence we can deliver against key conservation programmes.”
To launch the fundraising initiative, Phil North presented Graham Buckingham with a cheque for £1,000.
Visit Dive Worldwide to discover its diverse range of international scuba adventures and visit Bite-Back to learn more about the charity’s campaigns.
