KBA Europe launch new ‘Failure Mode & Effect Analysis’ training course
KB Associates Europe (KBAE) is pleased to announce a new training course – Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) to be held in the Aberdeen office after successful trail launch of the course in November 2013. This course will also be available in Singapore and Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA with the latest upcoming schedule being on the 18th – 19th February 2014.
This intensive two day course will introduce industry personnel to the principles of the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis processes which includes a comprehensive review and discussion of what is meant by FMEA and FMECA, the essential components, suggested level of detail, scope, complexity and options for the depth of analysis. The course will further delve into areas of analysis, with the risk assessment and residual risk being ranked against set criteria.
There will be an outline of the current diving industry stance from Class, OGP and IMCA as well as their similarities and differences. There is a great emphasis on the use of the process along with other diving system assurance tools, however it is to take note that the formula for a successful diving system FMEA is the same for other equipment such as ROV, Ships, Cranes etc. Making the document readable, live and above all useful is the aim of the process and consequently the aim of this course.
Personnel that would benefit from the course include but is not limited to procurement of goods and services, technical practitioners, engineers and supervisors. The syllabus covers a technical field but is focused on the process rather than individual ability to perform special tasks and therefore can be widely understood.
“I have been invited to a few workshops/seminars previously to give a speech on the topic FMEA/FMECA. We hear the industries’ needs of the usability of risk management documentation and the need to provide a safe working platform with competent personnel. With such demand, we decided to formulate a training programme that will enable the personnel to consider their role in the team/organisational structure and move toward the ideal FMEA report.” – Mr. Brendan Kearns, Technical Director.
