Check out the Grand Opening of DiveLife this Saturday 2nd September in Manchester
DiveLife in Manchester, UK will be holding its Grand Opening on Saturday 2nd September from 10am until 4pm. Staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about equipment, servicing, air fills, trips and club events. Training staff will be there to talk about the courses available and there will even be some special offers for those that sign up on the day.
Diving manufacturers, including Mares, Cressi, Fourth Element and Northern Diver are coming to answer questions and show off their latest equipment. There will be short talks by experts from the diving world on photography, travel, training and tech diving. There will also be something to keep the kids entertained with a bouncy castle and bungee run, along with refreshments for all the family.
At around 10:30am, the official opening will be marked by the cutting of the ribbon by Mandy Smith, widow of Graham Smith. To the uninitiated the old DiveLife store was held together by Brett, Adam, Chris, Ryan and the others that helped serve in the shop, to the rest of us we know that it was the community that built up around these people that made it what it was. A key figure for many of us was Graham Smith; he was the heart and soul of DiveLife always there with a story about his diving exploits, friend to everyone and so keen to dive he would stand in the rain wearing fins. Sadly, Graham was lost to illness in 2014, but the new DiveLife is about everything that Graham represented – fun, enjoyment of the sport, community and support of new divers. In his name, DiveLife will be dedicating a new award to the best new diver each year.
For underwater photographers, Nick and Caroline – the DiveLife and Scubaverse Photo Pros – will be on hand to talk to you about equipment, as well as giving tips and advice throughout the day. Garry Dallas will be there to discuss sidemount diving, Ian France will give a talk on cave diving in France. Ed Bulmer from SSI will be talking about diver training. Nick Robertson-Brown will give a talk on his top tips for underwater photography and Caroline Robertson-Brown will discuss the best diving destinations around the world.
It will be a fun-packed day for divers of all abilities; a chance to come and meet up with, and swap diving stories with like-minded people; plus, an opportunity to see some of the latest diving gear. The DiveLife team look forward to seeing you there!
