World-renowned diving doctor Simon Mitchell to speak at the BSAC Diving Conference at DIVE 2013
World-renowned diving doctor Professor Simon Mitchell will be flying in especially from New Zealand for a not-to-be-missed talk at this year’s Conference at the NEC on 26 October.
Prof Mitchell, who is widely considered the best diving doctor on the world speaker circuit, will be discussing decompression: ‘deep capability or deep trouble?’
Birmingham’s NEC venue will once again be hosting the annual BSAC Diving Conference which is open to all BSAC Diving Officers, BSAC Instructors and BSAC branch representatives.
Joining Professor Mitchell on the conference’s speaker stage will be polar diver and wildlife cameraman Doug Allan, whose icy exploits in the Arctic and Antarctic have contributed to some of TV’s best natural documentaries, including BBC’s Blue Planet and Ocean Giants.
BSAC Safety Advisor Brian Cumming will also return to present the results of the latest Incident Report and there will be a special 60th anniversary screening of previously unseen archive footage of diving in BSAC’s early years.
Alongside this year’s speakers, the 2013 conference is set to be a packed and entertaining programme to mark BSAC’s 60th anniversary. The conference will also include essential BSAC updates, the annual BSAC awards and the chance to ask your questions in the open forums.
Coinciding with DIVE 2013, all conference ticket holders will get a free weekend pass to the dive show. Plus, all conference ticket holders will be entered into a prize draw to win a MK25/A700 regulator worth £599, courtesy of Scubapro.
