Description: An immersion to discover the deep Mediterranean. The shoal of Zi Costante, half a mile away from the island of Giannutri, preserves pristine sea beds, rich in biodiversity. The shoal is covered with yellow and red gorgonians, sponges and soft corals. In the deepest part, the spectacle of a white forest of black coral Antipathes subpinnata is exciting. Between 70 and 80 meters deep, the branches of this rare anthozoan are shaken by a strong current that brings nourishment to the colony's polyps.
