Redang Island Found on the East Coast of Malaysia, the Island of Redang is located just 45km from the coast of Terengganu state. The Island along with the protected Marine Park is located in the richly diverse South China Sea and the archipelago comprises of nine Islands (Lima Island, Paku Besar Island, Paku Kecil Island, Kerengga Besar Island, Kerengga Kecil Island, Ekor Tebu Island, Batu Ling Island, Pinang Island and the main Redang Island). Our Island itself is quite large approximately 42 square kilometers in land mass and has two of the most beautiful white sandy beaches found in Malaysia. Both are filled with coconut trees and crystal clear blue water fills the naturally protected bays. Both of these beaches are found right in front of your island home. Locally, our part of the island is known as Teluk Dalam (Deep Bay) and the dense tropical vegetation houses nearly as many land animals as the sea does marine. The Marine Park Center located at the ‘Pinang Island’ can be found just off the south of Redang Island and as with all the reefs around this area is protected by the Marine and Fisheries department to ensure the region protects its underwater heritage and fragile ecosystem. Our resort is active in trying to assist in the protection of the environment and global warming, we ask also for your help while you are on island and in the water by protecting our fragile ecosystem and following our snorkel and dive guidelines. There are more than thirty dive locations, filled with both beautiful hard and soft corals, as well as a rich variety of marine life which can be seen by snorkeling or in more detail by diving. The dive team are only too happy to sit and discuss these warm and cold blooded animals and mammals, please feel free to ask. Underwater info Expect to see, turtles and various species of corals, reef sharks (harmless to humans) various species of fish including scorpion, moray eels, angel fish, barracuda, napoleon, trigger fish, rainbow runner, giant sting raycuttle fish, octopus, nudibranch and many more marine species. Unfortunately due to the monsoon season in Asia’s South China Sea and the Indian Ocean the sea currents change due to the weather and corals may be affected – we will always endeavor to take you to the best dive and snorkel sites possible at the time of your visit.
