Murex Manado Resort is set on the seafront amid lush, tropical water gardens with stunning views of Manado Tua volcano and Bunaken Island. From the moment you arrive, the warm-hearted staff will make you feel like part of the family.
Accommodation is on a full board basis with a combination of a la carte and buffet style dining served either on the sea front overlooking the ocean or in the main restaurant.
The resorts landscaped gardens feature waterlily and koi ponds, spring fed streams with bamboo bridges, mature fruit trees and shady palms. There are several species of orchids and numerous tropical flowers which are bursting with color. For nature and wildlife lovers, the gardens attract a variety of butterflies, birds, and turtles are known to nest and lay eggs on the black sand beach.
The stunning walls for which the Bunaken Marine Park is so famous are just 35 minutes away. With warm waters and excellent visibility, diving in Bunaken is suitable for all level of divers and snorkelers. Highlights include dolphins jumping alongside the boat, two species of turtle, schooling fish, tuna, reef sharks, passing eagle rays, vibrant, healthy reefs, breath taking underwater scenery and an abundance of macro-life. The rich marine bio-diversity of the dive sites surrounding Bunaken Island will leave even the most seasoned of divers spell bound and ready for more.
Manado Bay offers great muck, reef and wreck diving, excellent underwater photography opportunities and dive sites for all levels of divers. Highlights of diving here include a wealth of some of Indonesia’s rarest and most unique critters including various octopus and cuttlefish species, stingrays, frogfish, seahorses and an array of nudibranch and crustaceans. These dive sites, along with the Murex Manado House Reef, are excellent macro photography sites and also offer incredible night diving.
All of Murex’s dive guides are trained in marine biology and underwater photography to ensure you have the best possible experiences underwater – and with two such diverse diving areas on our doorstep it is no wonder that divers return to Murex Manado time and time again.

Loved it.
I did the passport to paradise trip. The resort is great, it has a good restaurant with lovely food (as you can expect in Indonesia), friendly staff (thanks for everything PIM) and the diving is excellent. The boats are organized, the staff is well-trained.
Bunaken is a great place to dive, I’ve been here years ago, but fewer divers due to covid seems to have increased the number of fish and the quality of the coral.
I visited the North Sulawesi area multiple times, above and underwater.
Murex Manado Resort is outstanding.
The resort is awesome with hospitality, food, cabins and of course the diving. And if you feel like having a ‘dry’ day, the staff has excellent suggestions in the many choices for land excursions.

Murex Manado was the 1st stop on our Passport to Paradise and it was amazing. Great food, spacious rooms and our kids loved the pool. Diving Bunaken is spectacular, turtles everywhere and super healthy corals all over the place. The staff is very friendly and does everything to make you comfortable. The boat transfer from here to the next resort went seamless and we had nothing to worry about. Just like another day of diving to get to the next resort. Loved it! Will be back….
