Make Brighton your marine marathon and produce a run for our seas
Marine Conservation Society has charity places to fill
The UK’s leading marine charity, the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), is looking for three runners to take part in the Brighton marathon, one of the country’s favourite 26.2milers, whilst raising funds for better protected and cleaner seas.
The Brighton Marathon, 9th April 2017, could not be a better event for people who like marathon running and love the sea.
With a finish line that has the stunning backdrop of the seafront of one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, the race has been growing year on year.
In 2016, runners raised over £2,500 for MCS.
Ruth Butler ran the Brighton Marathon for MCS in 2016 and raised nearly £600 to support MCS’s work. She said “I found it an amazing experience to run the marathon and I’m so pleased that I was able to do it and for MCS which means such a lot to me. Running by the sea helped keep my focus and having my name on my top made such a difference as it felt like I was almost constantly hearing my name being called out! The crowds were brilliant.”
MCS Brighton Marathon runners are supported from the time their place is confirmed to race day itself. Over the cold winter months, runners will receive regular e-newsletters packed with hints and training tips, support from MCS’s experienced fundraising team as and when required, advice on setting up online fundraising page and help from MCS’s press office to generate local media interest.
If you would like to run for MCS at the Brighton Marathon then visit their website and search Brighton Marathon and you can click to register your interest. If you’d like to know more, give MCS a call on (01989) 566017 or drop them an email to fundraising@mcsuk.org.
