Go Diving Show 2025 Tech Stage Speaker: Marcus Greatwood

Freediving instructor Marcus Greatwood returns to the GO Diving Show in March along with the NoTanx team, and will be doing a presentation about wreck hunting while freediving, as well as running breath-hold workshops throughout the weekend, and presiding over the Zero2Hero Freediving Challenge.
Based in the UK, Marcus has been teaching freediving, guiding people to extraordinary locations, and capturing their beauty through photography since 1999. His mission has always been to share the wonders of the oceans with as many people as possible.
After years of competitive freediving – where he set three national records and represented the UK team for four years – Marcus transitioned to coaching elite freedivers. Under his guidance, athletes achieved five world records and more than 24 national records.
Since 2011, Marcus has focused on exploring remote and challenging environments, specializing in Extreme Location Freediving from 2016 onward. Documenting these incredible locations through photography became an integral part of his adventures.
These expeditions brought new challenges, driving the development of innovative technologies and concepts, always with safety as the top priority.
Breath-hold wreck exploration
Exploring wrecks on a single breath has been a prominent part of his team’s focus, with enabling people to be on the wreck safely for as long as possible being the target. This is the topic for his presentation on the Tech Stage at the show.
Zero2Hero Freediving Challenge
The NoTanx Zero2Hero competition, aimed at newbie freedivers, will see an initial 12 candidates undergo training with Marcus and the NoTanx team in London in late-February. Then five selected finalists will compete at the GO Diving Show over the March weekend, including static apnea sessions in the pool, to find the overall winner, who will get a week-long trip to Marsa Shagra Eco-Village, courtesy of Oonasdivers. Go Diving Show 2025 takes place at the NAEC Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, on the 1st -2nd March.

Scubaverse Welcomes Jacob Guy to the Underwater Photography Team

We’re thrilled to announce the final addition to our new Scubaverse Underwater Photography Team: multi-award-winning underwater filmmaker and photographer Jacob Guy.
Like Shannon Moran, who we announced as one of our new underwater photography team members yesterday, Jacob represents the next generation of underwater image-makers, bringing fresh energy and a seriously impressive set of credentials to the team. A Fourth Element ambassador, teacher at The Underwater Club, and co-founder of 71%, Jacob is passionate about conservation and natural history storytelling, using his lens to inspire a deeper connection to the ocean.
Jacob has filmed and self-produced award-winning documentaries and worked as a photo and video pro in Lembeh and on liveaboards throughout Indonesia. Most recently, he was named Young Ocean Photographer of the Year, further cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting emerging talents in underwater media today.
You may already be familiar with his compelling work across social media, where he shares his ocean adventures via @JacobGuy.media.
“I’m really excited to be joining the team at Scubaverse,” said Jacob.
“And I couldn’t be happier to have him onboard,” said Scubaverse founder, Dave Alexander. “Jacob is part of a bold new wave of underwater storytellers—and I’m delighted that Scubaverse can be part of his journey as he continues to make waves in the world of diving and underwater photography.”
We can’t wait to share with you what our new underwater photography team cook up—there’s a lot of exciting stuff on the horizon, so stay tuned!
