Dive beautiful Thailand with blue o two
UK-based dive tour operator blue o two have announced that they are now offering dive holidays onboard the stunning Thailand liveaboard S/Y The Junk in collaboration with Worldwide Dive and Sail.
Thailand includes more than 2,500 Kilometres of coastline which plays host to sandy beaches, sheltered bays and idyllic islands. In the southeast of the country lie the stunning Similan and Surin islands, where diving is truly astounding. Hosting the new 4 and 6 night ‘Similan & Surin Islands’ itineraries, S/Y The Junk will highlight some of Thailand’s incredible underwater spectacles. Several species of shark can be found patrolling the waters of the Similans, manta rays are frequently sighted and whale sharks make an occasional appearance. There are plenty of smaller creatures too and on each dive, divers will discover several types of anemone fish, different species of ghost pipefish and seahorses as well as a fantastic array of molluscs.
Originally built in 1962, the 33m long S/Y The Junk underwent a complete overhaul in 1997 to prepare her as a liveaboard diving vessel. Welcoming up to 18 guests, but accommodating on average safaris 12-14 divers, S/Y The Junk features six air-conditioned and en-suite large cabins offering versatility for varying guest requirements. Cabins include two private double bed cabins, two triple cabins which can be converted into shared twins or private double cabins, as well as two cabins that can sleep up to four divers in bunks.
The spacious, air-conditioned saloon is exquisitely fitted with hand carved shelves, drawers and cabinets, behind which is hidden an expansive on board entertainment selection. Guests can choose from a library of books, videos and mini discs to entertain themselves with while out of the water. A large flat screen TV is perfectly positioned for optimal viewing while relaxing in the spacious saloon area. Alongside the decadent interior, the S/Y The Junk’s top sun deck offers stunning panoramic views of Thailand.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer liveaboard diving holidays on board S/Y The Junk, expanding the worldwide destinations that blue o two is able to offer our clients,” said Company Director Jason Strickland . “This joint venture with our partners is based on our extensive knowledge of diving liveaboards to ensure the highest quality standards. We look forward to welcoming you on board!”
