Coral Restoration Foundation Bonaire announce Eden Beach Bonaire as new partner
In addition to the coral restoration efforts currently being carried out by Buddy Dive and Harbour Village, Coral Restoration Foundation Bonaire has announced Eden Beach as new partner. Together they will create and build a brand new coral nursery.
Five new coral nursery trees are now located just north of the dock of Eden Beach, making space for 500 new corals and will be maintained by the Wannadive staff. With the help of a handful of committed coral lovers, no less than 80 Staghorn and Elkhorn coral colonies were relocated from another coral production nursery in Bonaire.
With the launch of the newest coral nursery, Eden Beach is the third member joining the team and supporting Coral Restoration Foundation Bonaire. Wannadive will proceed as the newest center of outreach and education for Coral Restoration Foundation Bonaire, meaning they will offer guided dives in their own coral nursery, sell unique Coral Restoration Foundation merchandise and will sponsor volunteer dives. Meanwhile the corals will grow accustomed to their new home and soon be transplanted to the reefs of Bonaire. In a year’s time, Eden Beach will also start offering Coral Restoration Diver courses. So divers, get ready to become a Coral Restoration Diver and dive for a worthy cause!
