Bonaire-based Buddy Dive Resort has received the highest PADI Classification given out to dive shops: the PADI Career Development Centre Classification. This is the highest classification a dive shop can receive from PADI and is the end result of many years of hard work and devotion from the entire dive crew. Currently there are 101 Career Development Centres worldwide with 9 in the Caribbean and Buddy Dive Resort Bonaire being the only one in the area.
The award was handed out by Erica Wedepohl (Director of Field Services at PADI) and Nick Buskirk (Regional Sales Manager at PADI) and received by Pepe Mastropaolo (Course Director at Buddy Dive), Augusto Montbrun (Dive Operations Manager at Buddy Dive) and Paul Coolen (General Manager at Buddy Dive).
“Buddy Dive Resort has worked hard to achieve PADI’s CDC level of excellence. The dedication to continuing education and professional level courses shows through in the wonderful instructors that have trained through their program. Training in the resort allows candidates to gain valuable resort operations experiences that make them ready to start their careers in diving anywhere that Buddy Dive helps place them,” commented Erica Wedepohl.
Pepe Mastropaolo commented: “This is a huge achievement taking into consideration that just 100 CDCs worldwide exist (with only 9 in the entire Caribbean region) and is the result of many years of hard and consistent work. We are more than proud!”
