BSAC Launch Their 2015 Wreck Award – could your club be the winner?
Does your club have a favourite wreck site? If so, then tell BSAC its story – and you could win the coveted BSAC Wreck Award 2015.
The BSAC Wreck Award aims to celebrate our underwater heritage by using BSAC members’ first-hand experiences to bring their favourite wreck sites to life.
Launched last year, the Wreck Award proved to be a real success, with the 2014 winner Severnside SAC’s report on the Baygitano scooping top place, in the face of some stiff competition.
The judging panel is now looking for entries from BSAC clubs or groups of BSAC divers for the BSAC Wreck Award 2015.
Once registered for the 2015 award, entrants will be asked to submit a report on their favourite wreck, either in the UK or overseas, by 30th September 2015.
It can be a wreck that you and your club have dived many times and is a site that is integral to your club’s whole diving experience. Or it could be a wreck site you visited on a trip and which captured your imagination or an old favourite wreck site that you have not dived for a long time and would like to revisit. It can be a well-known wreck or one recently discovered – the choice is entirely up to you.
You can compile a traditional report, or you can ‘let loose’ creatively and use multi-media, images, video, narrative and drawings to bring the story of your favourite wreck to life.
More information on registering for the BSAC Wreck Award 2015 and submitting an entry can be found here.
