Dates for the new regional BSAC Diver Training Days have now been released, with members able to book on a series of days scheduled for April and May. More days should be added to the programme throughout the year.
Following overwhelming feedback from Branch Officers, the BSAC Regional Teams have so far identified two key areas of support for clubs in 2016 – help with inter-branch collaboration and Diver Training Programme assistance.
As a result, the regional Training Days have been designed to support clubs and members to work towards or complete their diver grade courses.
The Regional Teams are holding open water training events at Capernwray, Dosthill, Loch Fyne, Stoney Cove and Wraysbury for the spring. Theory Training sessions are also being coordinated. Members need to book onto an event and let the organisers know which lessons they need to complete. The Regional Teams will offer each student at least two open water lessons per day, as well as some dive management tuition.
It’s hoped that this will help to take some pressure off the branches that are short of instructors, or offer a catch up opportunity for students who have missed their scheduled lessons.
