BSAC dives into Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’ campaign


BSAC is putting its support behind Sport England’s eye-catching ‘This Girl Can’ campaign designed to get more women and girls active.

With its down-to-earth and motivating humour, the campaign is catching attention for all the right reasons by celebrating everyday women as they sweat, puff and laugh their way to fitness.

‘This Girl Can’ aims to address the increasing gap between the numbers of men and women regularly participating in a sport. It also aims to tackle the personal barriers and fear of judgment that prevent many women getting active. According to Sport England 75% of women would like to exercise more but are put off by issues ranging from body confidence to motherhood.

Divers can relate to the campaign’s message – it’s not about how you look but how getting out and active makes you feel… and the fun you have on the way.

Twenty seven per cent of BSAC members are women. But BSAC’s female divers are a pretty sassy, sociable, capable bunch who BSAC would like to help them to inspire more women to get active.
