Sportif Dive Holidays add Gan Island to their Maldives Programme
Sportif Dive Holidays have added Gan Island to their extensive Maldives diving holiday programme. Located in the southern-most part of the Maldives, you can fly directly into Gan Island.
“Gan offers a different kind of Maldives with fantastic diving, great value the opportunity to explore other islands via costal roads including Feydhoo, Maradhoo and Hithadhoo,” says Sportif.
Their recommended hotel is the Equator Village with 78 bungalows set in courtyard gardens. The hotel has a private beach, swimming pool, restaurant and bar serving international and local cuisine. When not diving there is a spa providing a team of PADI dive instructors that offer a range of courses for all levels, boat dives and a house reef which is accessible from the hotel’s beach.
Dive on pristine reefs, with a variety of exotic species of fish such as the resident leaf fish and year round Mantas at nearby Addu, one of the very few places in the Maldives where Manta rays with over 5m wingspans are known to exist. Accessible from the centre is the British Loyalty; this is the largest wreck in the Maldives, spanning 140 meters with depths of 17-33 meters making it accessible for all levels of qualified diver. The channels and outer reefs of this atoll are also home to a number of shark species, hawksbill, green turtles and schools of large fish.
