The Project AWARE Foundation Board of Directors has announced the selection of Danna Moore as the Director of Global Operations effective 7 August 2017.
Moore is a seasoned leader with a background in program development, marketing, outreach and operations management. She has successfully navigated organizations through the creation of operational processes that merge financial efficiency with the mission of a non governmental organization (NGO). Moore thrives in positions that require her to shift quickly between issues, stakeholders and approaches. She’s passionate about protecting marine life and the oceans, and has worked across a broad range of communities on issues such as marine debris, habitat protection and overfishing. Moore most recently worked with Pew Charitable Trusts to protect critical habitats off the California coast.
Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master of Arts in International Relations, both from San Francisco State University. She is an experienced public speaker and has more than 10 years of experience fostering high-level stakeholder relationships within the NGO community.
“We are confident that Danna’s highly engaged communication style, her in-depth understanding of NGO operations and her passion for marine protection will all lead to success in her new role as Director of Global Operations for Project AWARE Foundation,” says Dr. Drew Richardson, Chairman of the Project AWARE Foundation Board. “We look forward to new and dynamic ways for Project AWARE to partner with PADI and strengthen our ongoing commitment to the health of our ocean planet.”
Project AWARE staff working in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia form a united front, empowering a movement and tackling specific objectives for ocean protection. As Director of Global Operations, Moore will lead Project AWARE’s team in the development and implementation of overall strategy, global operations, brand and partnerships.
