NUPG announce Splash-In and Print Competitions

Published

on

The Northern Underwater Photography Group (NUPG) have announced the dates for their annual Splash-In & Print Competitions.

To take part in the Splash-In competition, underwater photographers need to register now!

Splash-In

The 2019 annual NUPG splash-in will take place on Saturday 3rd August.

Images must have been taken in the sea around North Wales & entries should be submitted between 18:00 and 19:00 at the Belle Vue Hotel in Bangor (Belle Vue Hotel, Holyhead Road, Bangor, North Wales, LL57 2EU)

Voting will take place on 12th August at our monthly meeting.

Full rules can be found here: www.nupg.org.uk/2019-splash-in-competition-rules

Winners of the Splash-In competition get trophies to keep and these have kindly been sponsored by: Scubaverse, Mares, Dive Safari Asia & Frogfish Photography.

Registration

You must register to enter the Splash-In before the event. You can do this by emailing competition@nupg.org.uk. The closing date for registration is 7pm on Friday 2nd August.
You will then be sent a registration form that you should photograph before taking any other photographs for the Splash-In.

Entry Fee

The entry fee will be £4 for NUPG members, £5 for non-members; this fee is payable when you submit your entries (cash only).

Categories

The categories this year will be:
– Wide Angle
– Close-Up
– Newcomer

Any images taken by a Newcomer will automatically be eligible for the Newcomer category. A Newcomer in this case is any non-professional photographer who has not won a prize for underwater photography, this includes NUPG Splash-in or Print Competitions but not the NUPG monthly competition.

Print Competition

The print competition is also running (with Shark Trust adoptions for the category winners) and, again, voting taking place on 12th August at our monthly meeting.

The closing date for postal entries is Wednesday 7th August, but entries can also be brought to the meeting itself on 12th August. If you are bringing entries to the meeting, please ensure you arrive early so the meeting can start at 8pm.

Rules can be found here: www.nupg.org.uk/2019-print-competition-rules
