The countdown is on – just days to go until the Plastic Challenge!
With 8 million tons of plastic entering our ocean each year, 300 billion pieces of plastic in the once-pristine Arctic Ocean, and plastics now getting into our food chain, we have to drastically reduce the amount we use.
Could YOU live without single-use plastic this June?
Our convenience-driven lifestyle is getting out of hand. Do we really need pre-boiled eggs in individual plastic containers? Or pre-sliced apples in plastic packets? Couldn’t we refill our detergent bottles rather than buying a brand new one each time?
With global plastic production set to increase nearly six-fold over the coming decades, and half of this used for single-use items, we need to act now to reduce our dependence on the stuff.
There are heaps of ways you can reduce your dependency on plastic. Why not take on the Plastic Challenge and ditch your plastic-packed lifestyle this June? You’ll become a real talking point as friends, family and colleagues will be fascinated by your quest, which will help them come to terms with the fact that plastic isn’t any longer fantastic.
How long could you last? A day? A week? A month? Longer?
Going cold turkey on single-use plastic is certainly tricky. So, to help you, we’ve put together a downloadable pack, full of tips and ideas for going single-use plastic free.
Join thousands of others taking on the Plastic Challenge and see how long you can last!
